Cousins reunion

My mother came from a family of nine girls, as tight-knit a bunch of women as you could find. Their husbands became brothers-in-law whose family life largely centered around the sisters and their off-spring, my cousins, all 38 of them.

Every few years the cousins gather. Their children are banned, so that we will avoid dividing into vertical family groups and instead horizontally connect. This year we met at the Kahuterawa valley near Palmerston North, in the home of Alistair and Anne Hall. This photo shows a lineup of some of my female cousins. What more can I say!
