My good friend and fellow horn player Heather Thompson, wife of Steve, had her birthday today, on January 25, the birth date she has in common with Robert Burns. Naturally Heather wanted a Haggis party to share with her friends, and when she mentioned this idea to me, I unwisely burst into a rendition of Burns' Ode to a Fieldmouse. That was enough to earn me the task of delivering the Address to the Haggis.
Ridiculous, you may say, that one of Irish descent should attempt such a feat. And you may well be right. But for posterity, I share with you the event. Heather is the whisky pourer on the right of the group. Miang did the filming.
PS:The Haggis was delicious.
