A gift

Marcel Nogueira d' Eurydice is a Brazilian physicist who worked in my lab a couple of years ago. Marcel is bright, handsome and very warm-hearted. Recently he sent me a remarkable gift, this picture of Thomas on my shoulders made of around 300 pictures taken from my blog.

I have had many kind messages and emails from friends, all of which serve to keep my spirits high. I finished my 5 day course of electron beam irradiation today and hope soon to get some benefits. It is possible that we might identify some other near-surface pain sites and irradiate them as well.

Each day, my sister Mary and her husband Tom, who are visiting from Australia, have taken me to the hospital for my irradiation appointment. Mary's nursing knowledge has proven a great help in suggesting additional questions during my various consultations, with hospital and hospice staff, as well as in advising me and Miang.

Tomorrow Chris arrives from the UK. He will be with us for a week.
